Sports CenterIn 1977 the football field of the municipal sports center was inaugurated, marking the beginning of a new era for Sa Pobla’s sports facilities. Today, this sports center has grown significantly and offers a wide variety of sports and leisure facilities. Among the most notable facilities are several tennis courts, swimming pools adapted for different types of aquatic activities, a fully covered pavilion, a semi-covered pavilion for sports and cultural events, an athletics track for practicing and competing in athletic disciplines, and two multipurpose rooms.
Additionally, the complex has a bar-restaurant. The most renowned team that trains at these facilities is U.D. Poblense, a club with a long history.
Founded in 1923 as Peña Artística Deportiva Rápid Poblense Fútbol Club, the club adopted the name Unión Deportiva Poblense in 1935. For decades, U.D. Poblense has been a pillar of local football, competing in the second and third divisions.
The club has won three national titles. Among the most outstanding players who have passed through its ranks are Pere Gost and Llorenç Serra Ferrer, names that have left a mark in the history of the club and Spanish football. Currently, the sports center is not only home to U.D.
Poblense but also hosts other clubs and sports teams. Club Deportivo Athlètic Huialfàs is another prominent one that uses these facilities for training. Additionally, several basketball, athletics, and tennis teams regularly use the facilities, creating a dynamic and active sports community.
