At the intersection of Creu Street, King James II Street, Doctor Llompart Street, and Fra Juníper Serra Street lies Plaza de la Concòrdia, a space inaugurated in November 2005. This square is more than just a meeting place; it is a symbol of unity and harmony, representing the values of solidarity and peace. The space was inaugurated in 2005.

The area combines the architecture of Antoni Pons with the sculptural ensemble by the German artist living in Valldemossa, Nils Burwitz. This collaboration between Pons and Burwitz has resulted in a unique place that reflects both art and history. Burwitz's sculptural ensemble consists of four figures symbolizing the fall of the Berlin Wall, a historic event that marked the end of division in Germany and represented a new beginning for many.

Nils Burwitz, born in Germany in 1940, experienced firsthand the consequences of World War II. His family emigrated to South Africa in 1958, where Burwitz studied Fine Arts. In 1976, Burwitz moved to the Balearic Islands, and although he established his residence in Valldemossa, Burwitz has always maintained a close connection with Sa Pobla.

This connection is evident in his decision to dedicate the works of Plaza de la Concòrdia to ‘the generous embrace of Sa Pobla to the exiled’. Through the figures in Plaza de la Concòrdia, Burwitz sought to highlight the importance of concord and the human capacity to overcome adversity and build a better future.
