At the intersection between the roundabout and the Can Peu Blanc road is the square that the Sa Pobla Town Council dedicated to Simón Andreu, the town’s most internationally renowned actor. This square is not just a passing place but a living tribute to an illustrious figure who has left a deep mark on the world of cinema and culture.

Simón Andreu, born in Sa Pobla in 1940, decided at just 19 years old to move to Madrid to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. His undeniable talent and determination allowed him to make his way in the world of acting.

Throughout his career, Simón Andreu has participated in a large number of film productions, adding more than 170 films to his resume. Simón Andreu’s career has been recognized with various awards and accolades celebrating his talent and dedication.

These recognitions are a testament to his impact on the film industry and the respect he has earned among his peers and the public. In 2020, coinciding with the actor’s 80th anniversary, the Sa Pobla Town Council approved the proposal to dedicate a space in the town as a token of appreciation and admiration.

The square’s inauguration took place in 2023 due to the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
